NEW YORK - Britney Spears is taking her "Circus" act on the road next year and will make stops in Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and Vancouver.

In an appearance on ABC's "Good Morning America," the pop star announced that her North American arena tour will open March 3 in New Orleans.

Her new album, "Circus," hit stores Tuesday on her 27th birthday.

It is Spears's first tour in five years as she gains career momentum and stability in her personal life.

Her 27-city itinerary includes shows at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on March 18, Montreal's Bell Centre on March 20, Edmonton's Rexall Place on April 6 and Vancouver's GM Place on April 8.

Tickets go on sale beginning Saturday.

The North American tour will also visit Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Las Vegas before wrapping up on April 28 in Chicago.

Spears has also scheduled shows in London on June 3 and 4.
