GENEVA - The World Health Organizations says almost 50 more people have died of cholera in Zimbabwe in the past three days.

The death toll from the outbreak reached 1,564 by yesterday.

This compares with 1,518 deaths reported Dec. 25.

The United Nations' agency says the cumulative number of cases since August increased to 29,131 from 26,497 in the three-day period.
