Pictures and videos shared on social media capture the hours before the as it was approaching Medellin, Colombia, killing at least 76 people.

was headed to play in the Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional of Medellin on Nov. 30. According to reports, six people were rescued from the wreckage including three team members: Alan Ruschel, Helio Zampier Neto, Jackson Follmann. There are unconfirmed reports of a fourth team member who survived the crash, but later died in hospital.

Members of the team and delegation left a trail of social media posts before the plane left Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia:

Around 10 a.m. on Nov. 28, a Facebook Live video was posted by the soccer team’s official Facebook account, showing players and others waiting in the Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Around the same time, sports journalist Rafael Henzel posted a picture of the team’s luggage, emblazoned with the Chapecoense logo, lined up in the airport. Henzel also uploaded a video of him talking to defender Helio Zampier Neto.


Shortly after, Henzel posted a picture of himself in the airport before the team leaves. His caption says that the flight is leaving around 1 p.m. and that their first stop is Santa Cruz de La Sierra, Bolivia. The team would then fly to Medellin.

Shortly after boarding the plane, defender Alan Ruschel posted a picture of himself and goalkeeper Marcus Danilo to his Instagram story along with a video. Other teammates and passengers can be seen behind sitting behind the pair as they joked around.

Before taking off, around 1 p.m., Henzel posted another photo of Chapecoense team members putting their bags away and standing in the aisle of the plane.

Henzel then posts a picture of himself to his Instagram when the team lands in Santa Cruz de La Siera. His caption says that he is leaving for Medellin, Colombia to follow the Chapecoense team as they play in the Copa Sudamericana.

Defender Filipe Machado also posted a video of the team members joking around on the plane before they took off for Medellin.

Around 9:55 p.m., video shows that Flight 2933 lost radar contact as it circled over an area south of the town of La Ceja, Colombia.
