When a family friend gives your child a gift, it’s polite to show the gift went to good use when that friend visits your house. Sometimes that means dressing your child up in a silly outfit. Other times, it means plopping your kid on the rocking horse that the President of the United States sent him when he was born.
That’s essentially what happened in the U.K. on Friday, when Barack and Michelle Obama met with Prince William, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and their son, two-year-old Prince George. Prince Harry was also present for the Obamas’ visit to Kensington Palace, for dinner during their state visit to the U.K.
Images tweeted from the Kensington Palace Twitter account show William, Kate and Harry meeting the Obamas outside the Palace, and sitting down to chat with them inside. Another set of photos shows President Obama interacting with Prince George. Obama can be seen shaking George’s hand in one photo, and in another, the boy is shown sitting on the rocking horse that Obama gave him at his birth.
The handmade rocking horse comes with a polo mallet, and the presidential seal emblazoned on the saddle.
