GANDER, N.L. - A 63-year-old Kentucky man has been hit hard in the wallet for becoming unruly on a passenger jet that had to be diverted to Newfoundland.
William Peterson was fined $10,000 in Gander provincial court Thursday after pleading guilty to charges of causing a disturbance and mischief.
Peterson was also ordered to pay $18,600 in restitution to American Airlines for the diversion to Gander.
The flight was en route to London from Chicago on Monday when it was forced to land.
