TORONTO - The new home of the Toronto International Film Festival is getting a $10-million boost from the Ontario government.

The money will support the completion of the five-storey Bell Lightbox centre, which is scheduled to open next year.

The centre, which will offer year-round films, has already created about 1,300 full-time jobs during its construction.

The film festival says it expects the Bell Lightbox centre to generate about $200 million in economic activity within five years of opening.

That's in addition to an estimated $67 million the Toronto International Film Festival brings to the province each year.
