TORONTO - Bruce Springsteen brought his powerhouse E Street Band to an enthusiastic Toronto audience Monday night, kicking off the second of just two Canadian appearances with songs from his revved-up new disc, "Magic.''

Backed by longtime bandmates Clarence Clemons on sax, Steven Van Zandt on guitar and wife Patti Scialfa singing backup, the legendary rocker came out charging with lead-off single "Radio Nowhere.''

"Magic'' is Springsteen's first album with the E Street Band since the Sept. 11-inspired "The Rising'' in 2002.

In Ottawa on Sunday, the 58-year-old surprised the crowd by inviting Montreal supergroup The Arcade Fire to join him for part of a hit-laden encore.

According to Springsteen's website, the three-song collaboration began with "State Trooper,'' moved on to Arcade Fire's "Keep the Car Running,'' and closed with Springsteen's "Born To Run.''

The Boss' 15-month tour next takes him to a two-night stand at New York's Madison Square Garden.
