TORONTO -- Canadian driver James Hinchcliffe will serve as the grand marshal for this year's Honda Indy Toronto race.

The affable 28-year-old native of Oakville, Ont., won't drive Sunday due to injuries sustained in an accident May 18 during practice for the Indianapolis 500.

But Hinchcliffe has received medical clearance to travel here to serve as grand marshal and say the infamous "Drivers, start your engines," command to start the race.

Hinchcliffe won't race in Toronto for the first time since joining the circuit in 2011.

He is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
