EDMONTON - Brendon Rodney of Hamilton, Ont., raced to the fastest time in the 200-metre semifinals at the Canadian Olympic track and field trials.
Rodney won his heat in 20.25 seconds, easing up before the finish line.
Andre De Grasse of Markham, Ont., winner of the 100 metres the previous night, ran a relaxed 20.56 to win his heat, while Aaron Brown of Toronto cruised to an easy 20.95 to win his, setting up what should be a thrilling final.
De Grasse twice broke the Canadian record in the event last season, which was previously held by Brown.
Canada will name its Olympic team on Monday.
