BERLIN - Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker says she is not the slave to fashion that her character Carrie Bradshaw is in the HBO "Sex and the City" series and new feature film.
"I am a mother, wife and working woman in the first place," she said, adding that clothes don't play such a big role in her life as they do clotheshorse Carrie's.
"And there is no favourite designer or accessory as there is Manolo Blahnik for Carrie - there are so many talented and exciting designers, I could not possibly choose one favourite," Parker - sporting a white petticoat with a black girdle and black stiletto heels - said Friday, a day after the Berlin premiere of her new film.
Parker, who stars as the columnist Bradshaw, made a splash with co-stars Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis at the premiere.
Berlin was one stop during a whirlwind tour of Europe, where the series still has an enthusiastic fan base despite having gone off the air four years ago.
The film begins in the present, with all the characters older and more thoughtful than their younger selves.
Carrie, now in her early 40s, is a contributing editor to Vogue and a best-selling author. She's also got more money, and she's got Mr. Big, the man she spent most of the television series chasing.
Directed by Michael Patrick King, the movie is all about finding the happy ending - but the film boasts surprising twists.
Still, it might be too early to talk about sequels.
"We have not discussed this," Parker said.
