Some Like It Hot (1959)

The Year of Living Dangerously (1982)

The details
A tough act to follow, Billy Wilder's classic was dubbed the #1 comedy ever by the American Film Institute.  It's got everything film fans: crazy antics, a hilarious romance and the hottest Hollywood bombshell ever to roll out of a bathroom robe.

The drama
Two struggling musicians (Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon) accidentally witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and run for their lives. The madcap pair dress up in drag, join an all-girl band and further complicate their lives -- and their mob escape -- when Curtis falls for luscious fellow band mate Marilyn Monroe.

Why now
Hollywood loves a money maker. Period. Even in today's "Superbad" world of comedy, a "Some Like It Hot" remake would titillate a whole new generation and take the sting out of today's war-weary world - if only just for a couple of hours.

Who should star
Though Marilyn Monroe's pumps are tough to fill, our bet is on Katherine Heigl - today's hot blonde of the moment. Toss in a dash of Owen Wilson (as Lemmon) and Adam Sandler (as Curtis), an ample sprinkling of girly, cross-dressing disasters and this classic makes a great modern comeback.
