Conservative Leader Stephen Harper continues to crisscross the country announcing policy - new and old. And everywhere he goes, he stands in front of a podium with a sign attached in bold letters that reads, “LEADERSHIP.â€

He questions the abilities of NDP Leader Tom Mulcair and Liberal Leader J‎ustin Trudeau. Harper promotes himself as the best leader to run the country.

But now, in the Mike Duffy trial shed light on what was happening in Harper’s office at the time of the Duffy deal.

The emails show that Nigel Wright along with four of Harper's closest confidants worked together to create a scheme‎ for Duffy to repay his bogus expenses and three others including Harper's current Chief of Staff, Ray Novak worked on messaging.

That brings the total to at least eight people from Harper's inner circle who were either directly or indirectly involved in fixing Duffy's expense problem and it all happened within the walls of the PMO, right under Harper's nose and he still insists he knew nothing.

That means Harper’s team of most trusted allies worked behind his back. So perhaps the question now is not so much what he knew, but why he didn't know.

And whenever he stands at his "Leadership" podium accusing Mulcair and Trudeau of being weak, more questions will, no doubt, emerge about the strength of his own leadership.
