NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. - Cuts on three skulls found on Robert Pickton's farm were consistent with cuts on an unidentified skull found near Mission, B.C., Pickton's murder trial heard Wednesday.

Firearms and tool mark damage expert Brian McConaghy told the jury about his findings when he examined the skulls -- three bisected skulls belonging to Sereena Abotsway, Andrea Joesbury and Mona Wilson and the Jane Doe half skull found in 1995.

He said the manner of cutting was the same, with the cuts beginning at the front of the face, under the jaw and up through the face, with a second cut going from the back up to the top of the head.

McConaghy said the cuts didn't meet and there were fractures where the skulls were split or torn apart.

He said the cuts on the Jane Doe skull are consistent with a reciprocating power saw.

Pickton is being tried on six counts of first-degree murder.

McConaghy used a plastic model of a skull to demonstrate the cuts to the jury.

The skull had four coloured lines drawn on it -- one line for each of the four skulls.

He said they were all consistent -- vertical up through the centre of the skull at or near the midline.
