The fourth season of CTV's Nip/ Tuck premieres this weekend, and dedicated fans of the cult favourite have much to look forward to.

"Nip/Tuck" details the sleazy workings of ethically challenged Miami plastic surgeons Sean and Christian, played by Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, their families and their bizarre clients.

CTV's programming president Susanne Boyce has called the adult drama "one of those buzz shows that people can't stop talking about." And this year, a huge lineup of stars is set to appear on the show, including Catherine Deneuve, Jacqueline Bissett and even Canada's own Alanis Morissette.

Deneuve has perhaps the creepiest storyline. She plays a woman who asks to have her dead husband's ashes embedded in her breast implants.

Show creator Ryan Murphy told TV critics last year that Deneuve's character wants the surgery "so she can always be close to her husband," but he hinted at an ulterior motive.

"When you think Catherine Deneuve, you think French murderess," he said. "At least I do."

Also making an appearance is Rosie O'Donnell who, as viewers of "The View" know, has made it no secret that she is a rabid fan of the outrageous and edgy show.

Kelly Carson, who plays Kimber Henry, the former model and fiance of Dr. Christian Troy, says working with O'Donnell was a delight.

"Oh, she's great," Carson told Canada AM. "She's just Rosie. She's super warm. She has this really warm aura about her. And fun. She's nice to everybody."

Carson says this season the show is still going to be as bizarre as ever but will be little lighter in tone.

"There's going to be a little more humour this year. Last year was a little dark, with the carver. Some people liked it, some people didn't.

Carson says she's always amazed at the macabre topics the show delves into, noting that she herself is always stunned with what the writers have her character do.

"Every time I go, 'I don't know how I'm going to get through the day.' My palms are sweating and I'm nervous. But I just kind of close my eyes and jump into the water and go for it," she says.

In this weekend's season premiere, Sean and Christian receive an interesting proposition from patient Burt Landau (played by recurring guest star Larry Hagman), a wealthy medical venture capitalist who wants bigger testicular implants to please his much younger wife, Michelle.

Meanwhile, phone sex operator Cindy Plumb (played by Kathleen Turner) requests that the surgeons make her voice more youthful.

And a tortured Christian redecorates his apartment after a troubling appointment with his psychiatrist, Dr. Faith Wolper (played by recurring guest star Brooke Shields).

Nip/Tuck airs Saturday at 10 p.m., in Atlantic Canada and Alberta, and Sunday, at 10 p.m. in the rest of Canada. Check your local listings.
