PASADENA, Calif. - NASA has postponed a risky move to restart the computer on the Mars Odyssey spacecraft.

Scientists wanted to reboot the computer because they're worried that its memory may have been corrupted from years of exposure to space radiation.

The spacecraft has been orbiting Mars since 2001.

They planned to restart the computer Tuesday until engineers noticed a spike in temperature on the craft's navigation camera.

Mission managers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California delayed the reboot until they figure out why the temperature went up.

A new date has not been set.
