Ryan Flanagan is a Toronto-based producer with CTVNews.ca.
He joined the CTVNews.ca team in Toronto in 2018. Since then, he has covered some of the biggest stories in the country as a general assignment reporter and helped lead CTVNews.ca's coverage of the 2019 federal election and the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also created The Climate Barometer, a weekly newsletter focused on climate and environmental news.
Prior to moving to Toronto in 2018, Ryan spent five years leading the digital efforts of Â鶹´«Ã½ Kitchener. While in his hometown, he helmed local coverage of high-profile stories in topics including transportation, politics, natural disasters and community affairs.
Ryan was part of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Kitchener team that won the Edward R. Murrow award for Overall Excellence from the Radio Television News Digital Association (RTNDA) in 2018. He has served as a judge for the RTDNA's annual awards since 2019.
Ryan has a degree in journalism and contemporary studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to joining Â鶹´«Ã½, he was a reporter and photographer for newspapers in Ontario and Manitoba.
He speaks English and French.
