TORONTO - Millions of Twi-hards are about to be introduced to Metric.

The Toronto indie-rockers say they have co-written a new song with Oscar-winning Canadian film composer Howard Shore that will serve as the theme for the next installment of the "Twilight" film series.

about the song on the band's website, saying that the band's track "All Yours" is set to appear in the film and lead off its soundtrack, due out June 8.

Haines wrote that Shore, best known for composing the score for the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, called the band "out of nowhere" and asked to collaborate on the film.

She said the song is to be used in the pivotal last scene in the movie to "express the emotional ending of the film." The tune's lyrics were written in the voice of Bella (Kristen Stewart), the saga's heroine.

"We've had songs from our albums licensed for use in movies & TV shows before, but composing for a score was completely different," Haines wrote in a blog entry posted Wednesday. "Every step of the way we did our best to fulfil Howard's vision of the film's last moments."
