OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Cambrooke Foods are warning the public not to consume certain CamBrooke Foods brand imitation cream cheese and Peanot Butter spreads because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

All codes of the following CamBrooke Foods brand products are affected by this alert:

  • Cheddar Wizard Low Protein Imitation Cream Cheese, 8 oz (227 g), SKU 10310, UPC 8 04795 10310 2
  • Herb & Garlic Low Protein Imitation Cream Cheese, 8 oz (227 g), SKU 10308, UPC 8 04795 10308 9
  • Plain Low Protein Imitation Cream Cheese, 8 oz (227 g), SKU 10306, UPC 8 04795 10306 5
  • Low Protein Imitation Peanot Butter, 16 oz (454g), SKU 10809, UPC 8 04795 10809 1

These products have been distributed nationally through direct consumer sales and speciality stores catering to special nutritional needs.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled.

Consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria may cause listeriosis.

The manufacturer, Cambrooke Foods, LLC, Framingham, Maine, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.
