Munich will host the first-ever regular season NFL game to be played in Germany during the 2022 season, the first of four to played in the country through 2025.

The game will be one of five international games during the 2022 season, joining Mexico as well as the usual three in the U.K.

Of the four games to be played in Germany, two will be in Munich and two in Frankfurt. FC Bayern Munich Stadium, home to the Bundesliga champions, will be the site of the game. Frankfurt Stadium will be the host site for that city's two games.

"We are very pleased to welcome Munich and Frankfurt to the NFL family and are excited to reward our fans in Germany for their passion by bringing them the spectacle of regular-season NFL football," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.

Two of the games in U.K. will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while the Jacksonville Jaguars will play a home game in Wembley Stadium. The international game matchups will be announced in the coming weeks.
