TORONTO - Russell Martin drove in Ezequiel Carrera with the winning run in the ninth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Texas Rangers 4-3 on Wednesday night at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases in the frame on an Edwin Encarnacion single and walks to Justin Smoak and Kevin Pillar.

That set the stage for the Canadian catcher, who belted a pitch from Tony Barnette (1-2) off the wall in right field that easily brought home Carrera, who was pinch-running for Encarnacion.

It was Toronto's second straight victory and the sixth road loss in seven games for the Rangers (15-13).

Encarnacion hit a two-run homer for the Blue Jays (14-15) and Roberto Osuna (1-0) worked the ninth inning for the victory. Texas outhit Toronto 8-7.

Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez gave up three straight hits to start the game as the Rangers put up a pair of runs.
