REGINA -- The city of Regina is about to release a red-and-black aerial arsenal to help control some common pests.
Officials plan to unleash an army of ladybugs 300,000 strong to wage an environmentally friendly war against other insects, including aphids.
Experts say the ladybugs will help reduce the need for pesticides in the city.
Some of the polka-dotted bugs are to be released in Victoria Park on Thursday.
In May, Regina brought in a herd of 100 goats to graze on invasive weeds and reduce the need for herbicides.
