CLARENCE, N.Y. - Residents of the suburban Buffalo neighbourhood where a commuter plane crashed earlier this month are set to return to their homes.
A dozen families living on Long Street in the town of Clarence were evacuated after Continental Connection Flight 3407 crashed into a home on the night of Feb. 12, killing all 49 people on board including one Canadian and a man in the house.
Officials had hoped to allow the residents to return to their homes on Sunday, but clean-up delays caused by the weather pushed that back to today.
The crash of the Newark-to-Buffalo turboprop plane destroyed the Wielinski family home, killing 61-year-old Douglas Wielinski but his wife and 22-year-old daughter survived.
Don McDonald of Fort Erie, Ontario was the lone Canadian killed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
