CALGARY - Only two cownose stingrays out of an original 43 remain at the Calgary Zoo after another one died on the weekend.

However, zoo officials say the survivors are improving. The stingrays were part of an interactive display that opened three months ago. The rays seemed to be adapting to life in their new home until last week when most of them suddenly died.

Initial water quality tests showed no problems and zoo officials are now waiting for the results of further toxicology tests, which could take several more weeks.

Zoo officials say they have received an outpouring of support from across North America.
