Attracting hummingbirds and butterflies to most parts of Canada is not a problem.

Hummingbirds can be attracted to gardens most anywhere except the northern-most locations and Newfoundland. Butterflies can be found in any quarter of the country.

Butterflies prefer a flat-faced flower that is pollen- and nectar- rich. Hummingbirds like nectar and tube-shaped flowers that they can put their beak into to sip the nectar.

Make sure that the plants and the food that you place outside for both are in locations that are sunny and not too windy.
