Google has decided to play ball with Germany when it comes to its panoramic mapping service.

The online search engine says it will go ahead and erase the photos used for its mapping service after they have been processed.

Google has agreed to erase the raw footage of faces, house numbers, licenses plates and people who say they don't want their information used in the service.

Google has the street-level technology available for 100 cities worldwide.

But it has faced privacy complaints from people and institutions that have been photographed.
