"Trainwreck" star Amy Schumer says she was heartbroken to hear of the that occurred during a screening of her film.

Amy Schumer took to Twitter late Thursday night, to express her sadness over the movie theatre shooting which left three dead, including the gunman.

"My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana," Schumer said on Twitter.

A gunman stood up about 20 minutes into a showing of "Trainwreck" on Thursday, and opened fire on the crowd, killing two people. Police say he tried to escape in the confusion, but officers gave chase. He fled back into the theatre and a single gunshot was heard before the suspect was found dead.

The shooter has been identified as John Russell Houser, 59, of Alabama.
