TORONTO -- Justin Bieber showcases his sense of humour in an uproarious new interview on comedian Zach Galifianakis's intentionally awkward "Between Two Ferns" Internet show.

With a graphic beneath the Stratford, Ont., native's name reading "Justin Beevers," Galifianakis welcomed Bieber by saying: "it's really exciting to talk to you, especially right in the middle of your public meltdown." A moment later, Galifianakis sighs: "I've just never interviewed a seven-year-old before."

In his typical stilted interview style, Galifianakis then launches into an insulting line of questioning that includes such queries as:

  • "What was the last toy you got in a Happy Meal?"

  • "When you're in the recording studio, do you ever think 'hey, what if I don't make something (crappy)?"'

  • "You've had three hairstyles. What's next for your career?"

Bieber, 19, gamely swapped barbs with the bearded "Hangover" star and, slinking in his chair with a slight pout, issued equally off-beat answers to some of Galifianakis's stranger questions.

When asked which celebrities he hangs out with, Bieber replied: "Mostly lately, Joy Behar." (To which Galifianakis responded: "What's he like?")

Galifianakis did probe some of Bieber's recent scandals. Specifically he brought up the incident in which Bieber was recorded on video urinating in a bucket in the back of a restaurant.

"There hasn't been a time in the last six or seven years that I haven't urinated into a bucket," Galifianakis scolds, "but I don't film it and put it on the Internet."

He also addressed the flare-up that followed Bieber reportedly visiting Amsterdam's Anne Frank Museum and musing in the guestbook about whether the young journalist would have been one of his fans.

"Did you mean that if the Nazis had not taken her and she would have lived to be in her 80s, she would have liked your music presumably due to loss of hearing?" Galifianakis asked, before rambling about time travel. "I don't know what to Belieb."

"I went to (the) Anne Frank Frank Museum and they said she was into pop culture, and at the end of an over two-hour visit, I said I hoped she would have been a Belieber," the pop star explained, somewhat earnestly.

It didn't satisfy Galifianakis.

"I don't like your attitude to be quite honest," said the comedian, who missed a scheduled recent appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival because his wife, Quinn Lundberg, was giving birth to the couple's first baby.

"You're too young to be smoking pot and pee-peeing in buckets and driving up the highway fast. I don't think your mom would mind if a stranger whipped her son," he added, taking off his belt and giving Bieber a few licks.

"So. Who are you dating now?" he asks before the interview ends with a sight gag.
