Dan Aykroyd expected to cameo in new 'Ghostbusters'

(Relaxnews) - "Ghostbusters" veteran Dan Aykroyd is set to appear in the franchise's new female-led movie, it has been revealed.

The actor tweeted a message about being on set with co-star Kristen Wiig on July 14, NME reports. It said: "On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristin Wiig. Lady GBs are adorable, hilarious and badass. Exhilarating! #ghostbusters"

Aside from Wiig, Aykroyd joins a stellar cast including Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth.

Directed by Paul Feig and co-written by Katie Dippold, the Sony production is set to hit theatres in July 2016.
