QUEBEC - The embattled leader of the Action democratique du Quebec says his caucus is solidly behind him.
A day after two sitting ADQ members defected to the governing Liberals, Mario Dumont says the rest of his team remains committed to the party. Dumont told a news conference in Quebec City today that he doesn't expect any more floor crossings.
The party is going into a general council this weekend with two fewer members following the defections of Andre Riedl and Pierre Michel Auger.
Premier Jean Charest's Liberals now have 48 of 125 seats in the legislature, while the ADQ caucus has dropped to 39.
The Parti Quebecois has 36 seats and there are two vacant ridings in regions generally regarded as Liberal strongholds.
