VANCOUVER - Canadians hoping to be a part of the torch relay for the 2010 Olympic Games have another shot with the launch of a second selection process for torchbearers.

Coca-Cola launches a multimillion-dollar ad campaign Monday for a competition that will pick more than 650 torchbearer spots along the 45,000-kilometre route, which begins in Victoria on Oct. 30.

Hopefuls can visit ICoke.ca and sign up for the date and city they'd like to carry the flame to be entered into a lottery.

Around 6,000 winners will be selected, and the coveted places along the route will go to those who write the best essay on how they'll live a greener or more active life.

The relay's other sponsor, banking company RBC, has already launched a similar program and says the response has been good - although they're not saying how many people signed up.

Coke had already started accepting teenage applicants who signed up for an active living program last year, and will reveal the first winner from that process later this month.
