OTTAWA - International Co-operation Minister Bev Oda says her thoughts and prayers are with the family of a Canadian aid worker shot and wounded in Haiti, calling the shooting a "tragic incident."

Media reports say Francklin Guerrier was wounded and another man was killed on Friday while they were driving in the capital Port Au Prince.

One media report says Guerrier's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

In a statement, Oda says the Canadian government is working with consular officials to ensure the family gets support in this time of need.

Guerrier is working for a unit funded by the Canadian International Development Agency that supports the delivery of aid to Haiti.
