Police in southwestern Ontario have arrested a man who left a detention centre after pretending to be his cellmate.
Justin Kunz, 19, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a residence in London, Ont., according to local police.
Kunz went missing from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre two weeks ago after "altering his appearance to look like his cellmate who was about to be released,鈥� police said at the time.
Police also alleged that Kunz had threatened his cellmate to 鈥渂e quiet when the Correction Officer came for him.鈥�
Ontario鈥檚 Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services said that Kunz鈥檚 exit was not considered an escape, but an 鈥渋mproper release.鈥�
Kunz now faces charges including impersonation and uttering threats, on top of previous charges for a firearms offence and mischief.
He is expected in court Thursday.
