EDMONTON - Alberta will play host this spring to a World Economic Forum on energy and climate change.
The event, to be held April 24-25 in Lake Louise, will bring in more than 100 global leaders from the worlds of business, academia, and government.
Resolutions and ideas from this conference will be used to help drive discussions at the United Nations Secretary General Leaders' Summit in New York in September.
The meeting will also discuss work Alberta is undertaking in energy and environmental policy.
The province has been singled out by some critics world for the polluting and climate changing effects of its oilsands operations.
This is the first time Alberta has hosted a World Economic Forum event.
