Looking for some adventure on these last few lazy days of summer? There are plenty of ways to enjoy this Labour Day weekend…. here are some suggestions from across the country:

Check out your closest national park. As part of Parks Canada's Centennial Celebrations in 2011, there are plenty of programs and events that you can take advantage of. My geo-caching adventure on today's segment is just one example of the many activities offered.

Summer Bobsleigh Rides at Calgary's Canada Olympic Park end on September 5th. It's a new summer attraction that will have you soaring down the Olympic track, twisting and turning around 14 turns and traveling at speeds up to 100km/h while reaching 4 G Forces. Don't worry you are accompanied by a professional driver.

River Rafting in the Tidal Bore is a wet roller coaster of a ride that every Nova Scotian should try! It is the only place in the world where you can actually up-river raft. As an added bonus at this time of year the water in the Shubenacadie River is like bath water.

There are three rafting operations to choose from on the river; Shubenacadie River Runners www.tidalborerafting.com , Shubenacadie River Adventure Tours and Tidal Bore Rafting Park.

If you are in Toronto, the new Edge Walk at the CN Tower just opened this summer. You literally walk around the roof of the CN Tower's restaurant. Yes… that's outside! It's a one and a half hour experience, which includes a safety video and the 20 to 30 minute walk. Jeff and Seamus did it earlier this summer.

The 24th Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival promises another spectacular edition from September 2nd to 5th. There will be numerous international hot air balloons, including several special forms, and endless shows and entertainment, adding up to more than 60 hours of programming, all setting the tone for this major event that annually welcomes upwards of 200,000 visitors.

The new Manitoba Children's Museum in Winnipeg, is being called the Romper Room on the Prairies. The Museum celebrated its 25th birthday in June with the grand opening of a new facility that offers 33,000 square feet of fun-filled exhibit space including 12 exciting ‘discovery learning' galleries, spruced up educational rooms, and a newly added Welcome Centre.

The Summer Sundown is Blue Mountain, Ontario's way to celebrate the end of summer. From today through Monday there will be street performances, live bands, fireworks, beach volleyball, hiking and cycling and the Apple Pie Trail will be open for visitors to explore. Blue Mountain's sister resort of Tremblant is celebrating the 13th edition of Les Fêtes de la Musique.
