Not sure how to ring in the New Year? If you are looking for somewhere to get your Auld Lang Syne on, here are a few options across the country;

Quebec City

Merchants on Grande Allée are outdoing themselves to offer a breath-taking New Year's Eve celebration. Starting at 8 p.m. the classic folk song show titled "Rigodon Techno" is back. This innovative concept sees singers, callers and fiddlers share the stage with DJs as they merge traditional folk songs and modern dance beats. It will be followed by the 2012 countdown and an urban pyrotechnical show to ring in the New Year.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls shines with nearly two million lights and over 100 animated light displays during the Winter Festival of Lights. The highlight of this two month festival is Canada's largest New Year's Eve party. A free concert featuring the Sheepdogs, Our Lady Peace and Simple Plan is expected to draw 40,000 people to the Park.

Winnipeg

Must-do (if you can get tickets) is the hockey game between the much-loved Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Puck drops at 6 p.m. Historically (NHL or no NHL), New Years Eve has always been a popular hockey day at Winnipeg's MTS Centre.

Edmonton

Bring in the New Year at Western Canada's largest free New Year's celebration. This family event features both indoor and outdoor venues offering activities and entertainment for all ages. Pyrotechnic and fireworks display at midnight, skating on the City Hall Fountain area (weather permitting), horse and wagon rides.

Whistler

Offers a new alcohol-free evening of family entertainment and celebration. You can enjoy local arts and entertainment, and family-friendly activities at venues in Whistler Village. At midnight, ring in the New Year with free outdoor entertainment and a fireworks display. Tickets are on sale at the Visitor Centre, Millennium Place, Meadow Park Sports Centre, and online at
