About 5 years ago the top floor Toronto's Hilton hotel went through some pretty incredible renovations. The thirty-something top floor was divided into 4 luxury suites that boasted Canadian design at its best.

One of the largest suites; The Hudson Bay Company Suite plays homage to Canada's oldest retailer with natural wood, beaver pelts and of course the famous Hudson Bay trading blanket.

Although the elements were rustic, the dcor is surprisingly modern and clean-lined.

I recently had the opportunity to stay in this 1,800 square foot suite that sat high above the city for a night. It was larger than my house boasting a full dining room, home office, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, working fireplace and a view penthouse view of the city to die for.

All I could do is look around and imagine how I might re-decorate such a incredible space. After looking, assessing and dreaming, I finally decided the next morning that I wouldn't change a thing. Funny how a colorful striped blanket can look just as good in a luxurious hotel suite as it does in a hunting camp, huh?

Sleeping with these striped blankets isn't cheap; at $3100 per night, its reserved for producers and rock stars and reminds the super-fabulous that Canada has not only a great history, but a suite style that will have you saying "nice, EH?"!
