LONDON - Montreal band Arcade Fire, Toronto singer Leslie Feist and Vancouver crooner Michael Buble have all earned nominations for Britain's prestigious music industry awards, the Brits.
Arcade Fire received a nod for best international group, while their CD, "Neon Bible" is up for best international album.
Feist, who was raised in Calgary, will compete in the category of best international female artist, while Buble was nominated for best male international artist.
Overall, flamboyant singer-songwriter Mika, 1990s boy band Take That and reality show winner Leona Lewis dominated nominations.
All received four nominations and will compete in the Best British Album and Best British Single categories for the awards, which will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne on Feb. 20.
The Arctic Monkeys, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs and Kate Nash each have three nominations apiece.
Lewis, winner of Simon Cowell's British star-search show "X Factor," is competing for the Best British Female award with Kate Nash, KT Tunstall, PJ Harvey and Bat For Lashes.
She is also vying with Mika for Best British Breakthrough act.
Her four nominations come after she released the fastest-selling British debut album of all time with "Spirit," which sold 375,000 copies in its first week.
Lebanese-born Mika was nominated for Best British male artist alongside Jamie T, Mark Ronson, Newton Faulkner and Richard Hawley.
Take That released their first new album last year since they broke up in 1996 after a successful reunion tour. Their nominations include Best British Group and Best Live Act.
The awards are conferred by the British Phonographic Industry Ltd., a music industry association.
Paul McCartney will receive a special award for his outstanding contribution to music.
