About This Campus

Notable Academic Programs

  • Expeditionary Studies - The degree integrates study of such topics as the history of exploration, environmental ethics, and environmental justice, with experiences in leadership, planning, and risk management, to name a few. And always, you’ll be spending huge amounts of time advancing your skills in paddling, climbing, or skiing. In fact, the classes in those areas have more time in the field classroom than in the traditional classroom.
  • Global Supply Chain Management - You will understand the supply chain issues facing organizations and the role of supply chain management among other functional areas, preparing you for various inter-functional positions in firms of all sizes in all industries. You will be able to model realistic business problems using appropriate analytical tools and to apply advanced technology with real data to the real problems facing industry today.In our GSCM program, Â鶹´«Ã½s will gain significant exposure to this pervasive software package and will gain a significant competitive advantage in the job market. Our GSCM major was recoginized by study.com as one of the best in the nation.
  • Communication/Multimedia - With our TV/Radio Production or Broadcast Journalism Major you can prepare for a career in studio and field production for TV, video, and radio. Through hands-on experience, you will learn professional skills to produce and edit shows and have access to SUNY Plattsburgh’s television facility, PSTV.
  • Management Information Systems - Our program trains you to become a business professional who can use computers and other technology to manage information within an organization and enable business success. You will also develop the skills necessary to design information systems that support all the functions and processes of business.
  • Journalism - Our program contains a large practical component with hands-on courses in news, reporting, copy editing, page layout, and desktop publishing, it also contains a strong theoretical component in courses that teach press history, ethics, and law. Unique Academic Programs

  • Expeditionary Studies - In classes that are often as small as five or six Â鶹´«Ã½s, you’ll be studying with world class faculty who have traveled and guided around the world. Our innovative curriculum guarantees you will have constant and close contact with them in the field throughout your studies. The faculty can’t do it alone, though, and EXP Â鶹´«Ã½s must take seriously the intellectual, physical and experiential commitments required of aspiring outdoor professionals.
  • Hospitality Managementental Sciences - Prepare for leadership careers throughout the hospitality industry. Courses cover all major aspects of the industry, including lodging operations, event management, food service operations, tourism, finance, and marketing.
  • Africana Studies - In attending to the identities, struggles, and achievements of African-descended peoples, the program offers an alternative to Eurocentric perspectives and helps you make connections across time and space, as well as think more critically about how to maintain a diverse and truly inclusive community.
  • Food & Farming - The food and farming minor provides you with an opportunity to learn more about how our food system works and can complement programs in environmental science, travel and hotel management, nutrition, among many others.
  • Women and Gender Studies - Explore how institutions and social practices construct gender inequalities in the world. Examine how people respond to promote greater justice and human rights. Investigate systems of power using intersectional analysis — identify how race, class, sexuality and other dimensions of difference shape gender dynamics and gender violence. Apply critical thinking, including media analysis, to examine your own identity, relationships and experiences.
