About This Campus

New Mexico State University is a land-grant institution, a NASA Space Grant College, a Hispanic-serving institution and is home to the only Honors College in New Mexico. NMSU ranks in the top 100 institutions in the country in terms of Federal Research Expenditures. The faculty to Â鶹´«Ã½ ratio is 1:19. Las Cruces, a town of 102,000, is located in southern New Mexico where the sun shines practically every day. Opportunities for mountain climbing, backpacking, hunting, desert exploring, and fossil hunting abound. For day trips, within a three hours driving distance, you can choose between the native beauty of White Sands National Monument, the ski slopes in Ruidoso, or cave exploring in the Carlsbad Caverns. Annual events throughout the region include the Hatch Chili Festival and the Southern New Mexico State Fair.

Location Information

NMSU is at the foot of the Organ Mountains and along the banks of the Rio Grande. Las Cruces is 225 miles south of Albuquerque, NM, 275 miles east of Tucson, AZ an 42 miles west of El Paso, TX.

NSE Â鶹´«Ã½s are only eligible for the On-Campus Apartment Communities. If the Â鶹´«Ã½ is applying for Fall semester only, then a year contract is required, however, the contract can be cancelled with a memo from the NSE coordinator at the end of the Fall semester.
