About This Campus

The Metropolitan Campus (MC) is the largest unit of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (IAUPR). It is a private coeducational non-profit teaching institution established in 1912 and was the first institution in Puerto Rico accredited by the Middle States Commissions on Higher Education (MSCHE) in 1944 till present. Other Accreditations: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Council of Social Work Education. Network of International Business Schools. National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation. MC is also licensed by the Council of Education of Puerto Rico. MC is an official campus since 1970. MC is the only institution in Puerto Rico that offers programs in English and Spanish. Students can earn degrees in Business Administration, Biomedical Science, Nursing and Psychology completely in English.

Location Information

The Inter American University of Puerto Rico Metropolitan Campus in Rio Piedras is located in the Island capital city of San Juan. Puerto Rico is an archipielago with diverse ecosystem within its territory, from tropical wetlands and rainforest to uninhabited desert locations. Its mountainous terrain and irregular coastline allows for the practice for many outdoors sports: hiking, camping, biking, zip lining, rappelling and surfing.

Studying at M C provides exchange Â鶹´«Ã½s with unique experience by means of the following: an off-campus Spanish language immersion, the official language in Puerto Rico. Plenty opportunities to interact with locals Â鶹´«Ã½s and from other countries. May enjoy gastronomic, musical and traditional new experiences. The International Relations Office provides support to Â鶹´«Ã½s who are not resident of Puerto Rico.

Notes About Housing
The housing for NSE Â鶹´«Ã½s is in the brand new Campus Residence. It will be available for a semester or a whole year. The Residence apartments may include up to three bedrooms. Each bedroom consists of two twin-size beds and a shared bathroom. These apartments are fully equipped providing all the essential commodities. All rooms include air conditioning, water, electric services, and Wi-Fi. All the Residence apartments have a kitchen, dining, and living room which is shared with other Â鶹´«Ã½s staying in the same apartment. Each room has furniture and a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Regarding safety measures, the complex provides parking and a security system that includes access control. The Residence also has a power generator in case of a power failure emergency. For your stay at the Campus Residence, total payment is required at the time of signing the contract for the term. (Price $4,000.00 per person per term).
