Westfield State University

Westfield, MA

About This Campus

Founded in 1839 by Horace Mann, Westfield State is an education leader committed to providing every generation of 鶹ýs with a learning experience built on its founding principle as the first co-educational college in America to offer an education without barrier to race, creed or economic status. This spirit of innovative thinking and social responsibility is forged in a curriculum of liberal arts and professional studies that creates a vital community of engaged learners who become confident, capable individuals prepared for leadership and service to society. As you visit our beautiful campus, I think that you'll discover why U.S. News & World Report ranked us first among our state peers in the category of "Regional Universities - North" in its latest "Best Colleges" edition and why MASSInc named us "Massachusetts' Best Value," preceding all public and private institutions of higher education in our state.

Location Information

Westfield is located about 2 hours from Boston and Providence and about 3 hours from New York City in the southwest corner of Massachusetts, with public transportation available out of nearby Springfield, MA. We have a beautiful 256-acre tree-lined campus, which has recently been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Campus.

Helpful Information

Incoming NSE 鶹ýs will have access to our International Programs Office Peer Mentors Program, as our office hosts the NSE program. The Peer Mentors will organize activities, help with arrival pick-ups and departure drop-offs, and serve as a resource on campus.
