About This Campus

Washington State University is a top-tier research institution, belonging to the Pac-12 academic and athletic conference, with a strong Â鶹´«Ã½ body and extracurricular activities network. Our small class sizes, with a Â鶹´«Ã½ to faculty ratio of approximately 15:1, allow for individual attention and engagement in class participation. WSU has top ranked agricultural, engineering, communication, and veterinary medicine programs wrapped in a large array of impressive elective options. Recreational activities include hiking on Kamiak Butte, biking along the 20 mile Chipman Trail, skiing at several resorts within a three-hour drive, and three Â鶹´«Ã½ recreation centers. WSU is a large university with a traditional campus feeling in a small town setting where Cougar Pride abounds.

Location Information

Pullman is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in Eastern Washington. We have more than 170 days of sunshine and all four seasons. A small town, we are 8 miles from the Idaho border and the University of Idaho. The largest shopping city is Spokane, 75 miles away. Seattle is 5 hours away, across the state.

Helpful Information

Limitations
Enrollment in Business, Computer Science, health sciences, animal sciences, communications, and marketing courses is VERY limited. Incoming NSE Â鶹´«Ã½s MUST have flexibility in course selection. Equivalent prerequisites and math-level requirements are strictly enforced for all courses that require them. Students may only register for WSU Pullman courses, which are almost exclusively in-person, on the WSU Pullman campus. NSE Â鶹´«Ã½s register later than most undergraduate Â鶹´«Ã½s. Registration in many communication, science, and business courses is very limited and restricted to those admitted to majors from institutions whose accreditation aligns with WSU's. (e.g. Must be certified Business major from AACSB accredited business school to take upper division business classes.)
