TORONTO -- Shania Twain is joining the ranks of "The Voice" as a key mentor this season.
The country superstar says she'll appear later this month as an adviser to the final 12 contestants in the singing competition.
It's a job reserved for some of music's biggest names. Previously finalists have been coached by the likes of Rihanna, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.
Twain is taking the role as she charts a return to music after dysphonia -- a vocal cord disorder -- forced her to stop singing.
While her condition kept her from performing, she still racked up a number of accolades, including Billboard's 2016 Icon award and CMT's Artist of a Lifetime honour last year.
The singer also told Rolling Stone she's planning to release her first album in 15 years in the coming months.
Twain's appearance on "The Voice" airs April 24 on CTV.
