Toronto rapper Drake revealed the release date of his long-awaited fourth studio album, "Views from the 6," on Saturday.
The chart-topping MC announced that the album will come out sometime in April, 2016. The album’s title is a nod to his home town, which many have taken to calling "the 6."
Drake broadcasted the news on his online OVO Sound Radio show, which streams on Apple Music.
While the rapper did not reveal the exact date of the album's release, he ensured listeners that he's "working overtime" to get it done.
He also used the opportunity to play his new single "Summer Sixteen." The track is currently available for download on iTunes and Apple Music.
In the track, Drake alludes to his high-profile feud with MC Meek Mill, and takes a shot at U.S. President Barack Obama, who recently said that Kendrick Lamar was a better rapper than the Toronto native.
In "Summer Sixteen," Drake responds; "Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in, they bulletproof."
He also uses the track to compare himself to fellow rap heavyweights Kanye West and Jay Z.
Drake released two mixtapes last year, "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and "What a Time to Be Alive, both of which achieved commercial and critical acclaim.
"If You're Reading This It's Too Late" is up for Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 15.
