If Justin Simien's 2014 movie "Dear White People" didn't get the exposure its critical reception merited, Netflix is ensuring its biting message is spread far and wide.

The movie and now the TV series follow the drama surrounding a group of students at the prestigious Winchester University, in particular the controversies surfaced by and created in reponse to the titular campus radio show hosted by black student Sam White.

Seven core actors and actresses have been announced to return for Season 2: including Logan Browning as Sam White, Antoinette Robertson as her friend Coco, DeRon Horton as college news writer Lionel, and John Patrick Amedori as Sam's boyfriend Gabe.

Ashley Blaine Featherson, Marque Richardson and Brandon P. Bell return from both Season 1 and the original film.
