Lady Gaga announces 'Joker: Folie a Deux' companion album 'Harlequin'

Lady Gaga isn鈥檛 joking around about releasing new music.

The Oscar-winner  on Tuesday that she鈥檚 releasing a new album titled 鈥淗arlequin,鈥 which she said in an Instagram post is a companion album to the upcoming film 鈥淛oker: Folie 脿 Deux,鈥 in which she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix.

鈥淗arlequin鈥 will be released on September 27, according to Gaga鈥檚 announcement posted to her Instagram page.

The album will have , with song titles including, 鈥淕ood Morning,鈥 鈥淲orld on a String鈥 and 鈥淭he Joker,鈥 among the others.

Gaga had been teasing an announcement through several cryptic messages posted to her Instagram page over the past week, with some including audio clips from what are presumably new songs.

鈥淚鈥檓 ready for my interview,鈥  one post. 鈥淢oondust gets everywhere,鈥  another.

Gaga stars as Lee Quinzel 鈥 more commonly known as infamous comic book character Harley Quinn 鈥 in 鈥淛oker: Folie 脿 Deux,鈥 the long-awaited sequel to the Todd Phillips-directed original 2019 鈥淛oker鈥 movie.

Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Ken Leung, among others, round out the cast.

Gaga has previously earned critical acclaim for songs she鈥檚 written for movies in which she starred.

In 2019, Gaga won an Oscar for original song for 鈥淪hallow,鈥 which she wrote and performed in the 2018 film 鈥淎 Star is Born.鈥 She was also nominated in the same category last year for her 鈥淭op Gun: Maverick鈥 song 鈥淗old My Hand,鈥 and in 2016 for 鈥淭il It Happens to You鈥 for the movie 鈥淭he Hunting Ground.鈥

鈥淗arlequin鈥 appears to be separate from Gaga鈥檚 upcoming seventh studio album that she鈥檚 also been working on and teasing on her social media pages. Earlier this month, she  that the first single of her new studio album will be released on an unspecified date in October. The album will be the followup to 2020鈥檚 鈥淐hromatica.鈥

鈥淛oker: Folie 脿 Deux鈥 premieres in theaters on October 4.
