First "Game of Thrones." Then the world’s favourite astronaut, Canadian Chris Hadfield. And now Kimye.

Tourism Ireland is having a field day with news that the most famous couple on the planet right now – U.S. reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her rapper husband Kanye West -- have chosen to spend their honeymoon on the Emerald Isle.

After a pre-wedding, champagne-soaked rehearsal event at the gilded Chateau de Versailles in France and lavish nuptials at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, the couple surprised their paparazzi followers by choosing the climatically moody, but perhaps poetically mysterious, Irish island to spend their honeymoon.

With impressive reactivity, the country’s tourism office kicked into high gear Monday, putting together a quick promo video on the country’s assets and welcoming the couple via Twitter.

“A big welcome to Ireland and from all of us at -- we're working to improve the weather right now…,†tweeted Mark Henry, Tourism Ireland’s central marketing director.

After arriving in Cork aboard a private jet, the couple is reportedly staying one of two luxury castles: Castlemartyr Resort or Lismore.

The tourism office is hoping to cash in on the worldwide attention and has produced a video that offers travel ideas for the couple and their millions of fans.

Trip suggestions include a drive along the rugged coast named “the Wild Atlantic Way,†a visit to the birthplace of the Titanic, and a post-wedding shopping spree in Dublin, where the couple is also expected to stay during their week-long honeymoon.

The country has enjoyed a banner year when it comes to celebrity endorsements.

In addition to tapping the world’s favorite mustachioed astronaut, Canada’s Chris Hadfield, to serve as a tourism ambassador for the country, the rugged, wild parts of Northern Ireland have drawn interest from fans of the hit fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones," where some of the series is shot.
