Celebrity rapper Kanye West, , if he had voted at all, met with the U.S. President-elect at Trump Tower in New York City.
Journalists in the lobby of Trump Tower reported seeing the superstar entering the building with his entourage on Tuesday morning.
Less than an hour later, Trump and West emerged together in the lobby, where they posed for photographers.
“We’ve been friends for a long time,” Trump told reporters.
West remained silent until one reporter asked, “This is the president-elect, nothing to say?”
Smiling, West replied: “I just want to take a picture right now.”
The two hugged good-bye, with Trump telling Kanye: “You take care of yourself, I’ll see you soon.”
West appeared to be a fan of Trump prior to the U.S. election on Nov. 8.
At a concert in San Jose, Calif., in November, the outspoken rapper declared that he didn’t vote in the presidential election, but if he did, he would have voted for Trump.
West, 39, recently spent more than a week in a Los Angeles hospital, where he was reportedly treated for stress and exhaustion. Days prior to his hospitalization, West cancelled his U.S. concert tour.
