VANCOUVER - Paintings by Canadian artists Emily Carr, Paul-Emile Borduas and Tom Thomson are among the highlights of tonight's Heffel spring auction in Vancouver.
Seven Carr works are on offer, including 鈥淔orest Light鈥� from her mature period, which has a pre-sale estimate of $400,000-$600,000.
Two Borduas works also have hefty price tags: 鈥淐hant d'ete鈥� has a pre-sale estimate of $400,000-$500,000 and 鈥淭endresse des gris鈥� is valued at $300,000-$400,000.
Meanwhile, Thomson's 鈥淲oods in Winter鈥� is expected to fetch $250,000-$350,000.
A total of 145 lots are in the sale, which is expected to achieve between $7 million and $10 million.
Other highlights include B.C. Binning's 鈥淧ainted Structure in Space,鈥� which was found at a garage sale and is expected to achieve $10,000-$15,000.
