VANCOUVER - Paintings by Canadian artists Emily Carr, Paul-Emile Borduas and Tom Thomson are among the highlights of tonight's Heffel spring auction in Vancouver.

Seven Carr works are on offer, including “Forest Light†from her mature period, which has a pre-sale estimate of $400,000-$600,000.

Two Borduas works also have hefty price tags: “Chant d'ete†has a pre-sale estimate of $400,000-$500,000 and “Tendresse des gris†is valued at $300,000-$400,000.

Meanwhile, Thomson's “Woods in Winter†is expected to fetch $250,000-$350,000.

A total of 145 lots are in the sale, which is expected to achieve between $7 million and $10 million.

Other highlights include B.C. Binning's “Painted Structure in Space,†which was found at a garage sale and is expected to achieve $10,000-$15,000.
