Dolly Parton keeps an emergency wig by her bed.

The 67-year-old country singer admits she keeps the hairpiece at hand in case there's an earthquake and she has to get up and get out of her house quickly.

During an interview on the U.K. TV show 'Daybreak', Parton said: "I do (have an emergency wig), especially when I'm in Los Angeles because they have so many earthquakes there.

"Unlike most people I would think, 'No, I'm snatching that wig up before I head down that exit.'

"Of course it may be crooked if I have it on backwards but I'm going to have it."

Parton also had some words of advice for her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.

The singer has been watching 20-year-old Cyrus's recent antics with much interest but she is adamant the former 'Hannah Montana' star isn't doing anything wrong, she's just trying to shake off her old image. However, Parton said it might be a good idea to calm down.

"Well, she's growing, I'm telling you! But I love her to death, she's a talented, special, sweet girl.

"She's trying her best to grow up and I'm trying my best to let her.

"It's not my place to tell her how to live and how to do.

"I understand what she's trying to do, she's trying to break away from all the things that we won't let her grow up (from), we just don't want her to do it. But you know you still go, 'Oooh calm down just a little bit!'

"If it was my daughter doing the same thing I'd be going, 'Oh don't do that!' "

Parton is confident Cyrus -- whose father is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus -- will "land on her feet."
